Here’s Honda’s take on the 300cc urban streetfighter segment 

After weeks of teases and speculations about what it might be, Honda has finally launched the CB300F in India at an exorbitant price tag of Rs 2,25,900 (ex-showroom Delhi). Here’s how the streetfighter looks up close via detailed images.

Talking about the design, the Honda CB300F looks like a slightly bigger Honda Hornet 2.0. It flaunts a sharp body design with edgy body panels and fuel tank extensions. The headlight unit looks rather aggressive and is quite reminiscent of the CB500F. It gets an all-LED lighting system.

When it comes to the heart of this streetfighter, it gets an all-new 293cc air-oil-cooled mill. It produces 24.47PS and 25.6Nm and comes paired to a six-speed transmission. It also gets a slipper clutch as a standard along with Honda Selectable Torque Control, which is essentially a traction control system.

The CB300F runs on a USD fork and a five-step adjustable monoshock setup for suspension. The gold finish on the USD fork gives a rather premium look to the streetfighter.

Anchoring the streetfighter is a 276mm disc up front and a 220mm disc at the rear with dual-channel ABS for extra safety. Its rival, the 200 Duke gets switchable dual channel ABS.

For a more urban-centric riding experience, the Honda CB300F rolls on smaller 17-inch alloy wheels, wrapped in MRF Revz FC1 110/150 tyres.

In terms of features, the streetfighter comes packed with a USB type C charging socket, a full LCD instrument cluster displaying readouts like real-time/average mileage, distance-to-empty readouts, battery voltage, and gear position indicator. Apart from that the bike also features Honda’s smartphone voice control system on the higher Deluxe Pro variant.

In this segment, the Honda CB300F goes up against the likes of KTM 200 Duke, Suzuki Gixxer 250, Yamaha FZ-25 and Bajaj Pulsar N250. That said, with a price tag of over Rs 2 lakh, the CB300F costs quite a bit for a bike that is essentially powered by an air-oil-cooled engine and is also more expensive than all its rivals.
