Honda CB300R BS6 vs CFMoto 250 CL-X: Photo Comparison
Let's see how Honda's latest neo retro stacks up against the newest Chinese quarter-litre retro offering in images
In India, we recently witnessed the launch of the new Honda CB300R BS6. Meanwhile, its Chinese rival, the CFMoto 250 CL-X, has been unveiled in its home country. To know how these neo-retro bikes fare against each other, here we bring you a detailed photo comparison.
On the design front, both bikes look quite similar as they carry a neo-retro look. The fascia of the CB300R BS6 gets a classic circular LED headlight with twin DRL's while the 250 CL-X uses a circular LED headlight with a distinctive X-shaped nacelle and LED DRL.
The side profile of both bikes looks quite similar in terms of design. However, there are a few differences such as the CB300R’s upswept exhaust while the 250 CL-X comes equipped with an underbelly unit. Both motorcycles use split seats.
The tail section of both the bikes are stubby yet lean, and they both mount an LED taillight. The CB300R gets a conventional tail-mounted licence plate holder with integrated LED turn indicators while the 250 CL-X gets a tyre hugger which mounts the license plate and LED turn indicators.
Powering the Honda CB300R is a BS6 compliant 286cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled engine that produces 31.1PS and 27.5Nm. The 250 CL-X on the other hand, draws power from a 250cc, single-cylinder engine that puts out 28PS and 22Nm.
Both the bikes use a similar suspension setup, a USD fork up front and a monoshock at the rear. The USD forks on the CB300R gets a golden finish while the unit on the 250 CL-X gets a matte black finish with side reflectors.
The braking hardware on both bikes comprise of discs at both ends with ABS also the unit on the CB300R is IMU-enhanced. The wheel size is also similar as both the bikes roll on 17-inch alloy wheels. The design of both the alloys also look quite identical. However, the one on the 250 CL-X gets blue highlights.
The Honda CB300R is priced at Rs 2.77 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi) while CFMoto is yet to reveal the price of the 250 CL-X abroad. Expect CFMoto to bring the neo-retro naked here some time in the future.
