Honda CBR650R: Showrooms Where You Can Buy The 650cc Sportbike
Priced at Rs 7.70 lakh (ex-showroom, pan India), the Honda CBR650R will be retailed through Honda's premium chain of dealerships
The bike is available across all 22 Honda Wing World dealerships in India. Honda also sells the mid-displacement sports bike via its sole Honda BigWing dealership in Gurugram, Delhi. Booking amount is set at Rs 15,000. The Honda CBR650 is available in two colours - red and black.Honda launched the CBR650R in India as a replacement for the CBR650F at a price of Rs 7.70 lakh (ex-showroom, India). That’s a premium of around Rs 32,000 over the outgoing model. This premium mid-displacement sportbike makes its way into the country via the CKD route and is available in two shades - red and black.
Honda has taken a different approach when it comes to its premium motorcycles and plans on selling these bikes through its new premium dealership chain. The first such showroom, christened as the Honda BigWing dealership, was recently inaugurated in Gurugram, Delhi. However, for the time being, you can buy and service the CBR650R at any of the 22 Honda Wing World dealerships mentioned below.

The India-spec Honda CBR650R is powered by a 649cc, liquid-cooled, inline-four cylinder engine. It produces 88PS (up by 1.4PS) of power at 11,500rpm and a peak torque of 60.1Nm (up by 0.5Nm) at 8000rpm. The motor comes coupled with a 6-speed transmission aided by a new slipper clutch. The CBR650R also gets Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) system which is essentially switchable traction control.
In terms of underpinnings, the CBR650R uses a perimeter frame with 41mm upside forks and a monoshock, both from Showa. Braking is via twin 310mm discs paired with radially mounted four-piston calipers up front and a single rear disc with a single-pot caliper at the rear. Its 17-inch alloy wheels come wrapped in 120/70- section rubber up front and a fat 180/55-section tyre at the rear.
As for its rivals, in terms of displacement, the Honda CBR650R competes with the Kawasaki Ninja 650 priced at Rs 5.89 lakh. However, in terms of pricing, the bike goes up against the likes of the Suzuki GSX-S750, priced at Rs 7.46 lakh and Kawasaki Z900, which retails for Rs 7.69 lakh (all prices, ex-showroom India).
