Honda has patented the design of the Stylo 160 in India. The Japanese manufacturer sells this stylish scooter in the Indonesian market, where it is priced at 2,77,45,000 Indonesian Rupiah (ex-showroom), which is roughly equal to Rs 1,44,348.

This scooter is powered by a 156.9cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine that produces 15.4PS and 13.8Nm, paired with a CVT (continuously variable transmission). The Stylo 160 gets a telescopic fork and a single shock absorber. It is available with optional dual-channel ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) and CBS (Combined Braking System). The ABS version gets 220mm discs on both ends and the CBS version has a 190mm front disc and a drum brake at the rear. The scooter rides on 12-inch wheels, wrapped with 110-section front and 130-section rear tyres.

The Stylo 160 has an all-LED lighting setup and features a fully digital instrument cluster that shows the speedometer, odometer, fuel gauge, tripmeter, and other tell-tale lights. It also has keyless operation and a USB charging port.

Honda might have patented the scooter in India, but the 160cc scooter segment is still very niche and it being a liquid-cooled scooter means it’ll be quite expensive as well. Hence, it is unlikely to come to India. Honda might have patented the design just to protect the legal rights of the scooter in the country.

Moreover, the sales figures prove that 150-160cc scooters aren’t mass-market products. In April 2024, Honda sold 2,60,300 units of the Activa 6G and Activa 125 and 12,944 units of the Dio and Dio 125. Whereas, in the 160cc scooter segment, only 1,902 units of the Yamaha Aerox 155 and 278 units of the Aprilia SXR 160 were sold.
