The electric Activa was finally launched!

Honda finally made its entry into the electric two-wheeler market in India with the launch of the Activa e and QC1 electric scooters. Additionally, the brand also showcased the Motocompacto foldable e-scooter.

Activa e:

The Activa e: was launched with a starting price of Rs 1,17,000 (ex-showroom), and it is Honda’s electric version of the hugely popular Activa. The Activa e: is equipped with dual 1.5kWh swappable battery packs, offering a claimed range of 102 kilometers on a full charge. Powered by a 6kW motor, it has a top speed of 80kmph and accelerates from 0 to 60kmph in 7.3 seconds.

A key highlight of the Activa e: is its battery swapping system, which Honda is setting up in cities such as Bengaluru, Mumbai, and Delhi. The company offers battery swapping subscription plans starting at Rs 1,999 per month for the Basic Plan, offering 40 kilometers of daily range, and going up to Rs 3,599 per month for the Advance Plan (100 kilometers daily).

The RoadSync Duo variant, priced at Rs 1,51,600 (ex-showroom), comes with a 7-inch TFT console featuring smartphone connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, and smart notifications. The scooter also includes features such as keyless unlock, smart lock, and a smart find function for locating the scooter in crowded spaces. The base variant comes with a smaller cluster, and without all these features.

QC1

The Honda QC1 has been priced at Rs 90,000 (ex-showroom) and gets a 1.5kWh fixed battery, with a claimed range of 80 km on a full charge. It has a 1.8kW electric motor that reaches a top speed of 50kmph. The QC1’s battery charges from 0 to 80 percent in 4 hours and 30 minutes. With its 26-litre underseat storage, the QC1 prioritizes practicality for daily family commuting. It also features a 5-inch LCD instrument console with basic readouts and two riding modes: Standard and Econ.

Motocompacto

In addition to the Activa e and QC1, Honda also showcased its foldable electric scooter, the Motocompacto, at the expo. Designed for urban mobility, the Motocompacto features a compact and innovative foldable design, weighing just 19kg. It includes a permanent magnet direct-drive motor with a 490W power and 16Nm. The scooter offers a claimed range of 19km and a top speed of 25kmph.

The Motocompacto’s foldable seat and handlebars make it extremely portable, while its small dimensions (742mm long, 94mm wide, and 536mm tall) allow for easy storage and transport. It is powered by a 0.7 kWh battery pack, which can be charged in 3 hours 30 minutes using a standard 110V socket. While the Motocompacto is already available in international markets, it is expected to launch in India in 2026.
