India Could Soon Get THIS BMW Electric Bike

Spotted testing in India, the BMW CE 02 might be the least desirable of them all…

The BMW CE 02 electric bike has been spotted testing in India. Interestingly, after its official launch overseas in July this year, quite a lot of questions about the e-bike's value-for-money proposition had come up. And that brings us to the question: can such a bike come to a price sensitive market like India?

Firstly, the CE 02 has been developed by TVS. And now with most major manufacturers already bringing their EVs, BMW could be looking to have at least a small piece of that pie. Its underwhelming value proposition aside, the CE 02 surely carries the distinctive BMW appeal and has quite a unique design.

Plus BMW already retails the C 400 GT at an eye-watering Rs 11.25 lakh (ex-showroom), which means there could be a viable niche for the CE 02 as well. Should the CE 02 make its way into the Indian market, it could carry a price tag similar to that of the recently launched TVS X, currently priced at Rs 2,49,990 (ex-showroom).
