Indian Chief Unveiling on 3rd August at Sturgis

The American auto marquee Polaris, better known for its off-road vehicles, is in the last stage of preparations for the global debut the legendary bike Indian. The latest information emerged on the web suggest that Indian Motorcycles would unveil the new 2014 Indian Chief on 3rd August at Sturgis, South Dakota, USA. Polaris will unveil the at an event at 999 Main Street at the Sturgis Motorcycle Museum and Hall of Fame. The highlights of the event will be guest appearance of Mike Wolfe, interactions with Indian officials and an audio/video tribute to Indian’s past. We have already reported that Indian will also enter into the Indian market by 2014 and Indian's official website also says the same.

The new Indian Chief will be the first motorcycles product from Polaris as Victory motorcycles will be launched later. Polaris will manufacture Indian motorcycles initially at Iowa, US, facility with other Victory motorcycles. Scott Menneto, the Vice-President of the motorcycle division at Polaris, promises that the production facility is the only thing that his two big-capacity motorcycle brands will share. The Indians, with their push-rod engines, will be clean-sheet designs, and not a single component will be shared with Victory. 2013 Indian Chief will get its power from a new Power Plus, 1,721cc V-twin engine, which uses an electronic fuel injection technology. While, Polaris is trying to make it a technically advanced bikes, it will also keep the large and sweeping fenders, low riding stance and front fender to keep its classic appeal.

The 2013 Indian Chief range includes five versions for the Chief namely Classic, Chief Dark Horse, Vintage and Vintage Limited Edition, the 5th and final model in the lineup will be the ultra-exclusive Chief Vintage Final Edition. However, it is still unclear which models will be launched in India. Prices for the Indian range will start at $26,499 for the Chief Classic and go up to $37,599 for the Chief Final Edition.
