Jawa And Jawa Forty-Two Now Come With A More Powerful Engine
The updates to the bikes have also resulted in a price hike
Earlier this year, Classic Legends introduced the Jawa 42 2.1, a more peppy avatar of the Forty-Two. Apart from the cosmetic differences, the bike packed updated internals too. Now, following the launch of the Jawa Khaki and Midnight Grey, the brand has announced that all the changes from the 42 2.1 will be incorporated in the Jawa and the Forty-Two as well.
The Jawa and the Forty-Two now produce 27.33PS and 27.02Nm, while the previous versions made 26.51PS and 27.05Nm. Classic Legends has achieved this by using cross-port technology and a repositioned lambda sensor. Even the throttle response is claimed to be improved with the help of better fueling.
Furthermore, these motorcycles now get a retuned suspension and frame setup, a retuned exhaust, and an updated seat with redesigned seat pan. Of course, this means the prices have been revised as well. Here’s how the bikes currently cost:

Fortunately, the price hike has been nominal for the Jawa and the Forty-Two. However, the Jawa 42 2.1 is now priced Rs 7,649 more than before. That said, the Jawa bikes are more affordable than the Royal Enfield Classic 350 variants, which received a massive price hike this month.
Even the brand’s flagship model, the Perak, is now Rs 8,700 more expensive, breaching the Rs 2 lakh mark. With no changes to the 334cc engine, it is hard to zero in on the reason for the spike in the bobber’s price.
