Jawa Launches 42 2.1 Tawang Edition Exclusively In The Northeast
A bike which pays tribute to one of India’s most beautiful riding destinations
The Jawa 42 2.1 Tawang Edition roadster has been launched. It’s based on the 2021 Allstar Black version, but features a cool 'Tawang Edition' badge in Buddhist text on the tank among other tweaks for that Himalayan feel. But that’s not all, Jawa will make just 100 of the Tawang Edition and they will be sold exclusively to residents of Arunachal Pradesh and surrounding States.
The limited edition bike is modeled like ‘Lungta,’ a mythical wind horse which represents luck and prosperity. Even the motorcycle’s front fender and fuel tank have that Lungta design. The fact that each unit of this limited-run model (100 units) will have a beautiful medallion with a unique number will make purchasing this bike even more special.
That said, mechanically, things remain unchanged. Its 293cc, liquid-cooled motor continues to produce 26.84Nm and 27.33PS. The bike is supported by a telescopic fork and twin shocks, and braking is handled by single discs at either end.
What comes as a surprise is that this special edition Jawa 42 costs Rs 20,000 more in Arunachal Pradesh than the regular bike that costs Rs 1,94,142 (ex-showroom Delhi). Hence, if any residents of Arunachal Pradesh are keen on getting your hands on one of these, our advice would be to make a reservation at the earliest. You can reserve one online for Rs 5,000 (refundable).
