Bengaluru-based Log9 Materials signs MoU with Jitendra EV to provide new-age battery and fast charging solution

Bengaluru-based startup Log9 Material has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Nashik-based Jitendra New EV Tech. As per this association, the latter’s JMT 1000HS e-scooter will get Log9’s RapidX batteries and InstaCharge fast charging tech, christened the JMT 1000HS Rapid.

Interestingly, Log9 hasn’t used lithium-ion cells, but opted for aluminum fuel cells which have a wider operating temperature of -30° to 60°C. For reference, the optimal operating temperature of a lithium-ion battery is 10° to 55°C. Furthermore, the aluminum fuel cells have denser energy storage capacity and faster charging times.

Log9 promises that the upcoming Jitendra JMT100HS Rapid will take just 15 minutes for a full charge and the battery will have a life of over 10 years and 15000+ charging cycles. For reference, the current JMT100HS takes 3.5 hours for a full charge. The battery startup also claims that the range with its RapidX battery would be 82km, which is just 8km less than the range of the current model.

The upcoming Jitendra JMT100HS Rapid will focus on the B2B segment, and the quick charging time would aid fleet management and tackle range anxiety. That said, more range than the current model would have been even more beneficial.

Jitendra EV or Log9 is yet to announce the debut of the new product. However, we expect it to debut later this year. Given the recent Ola Electric S1 Pro’s fire-catching incident, this new battery technology promises safety and reliability. Ola Electric too is planning to step up its game, and with Israeli company StoreDot’s fast charging tech, could juice up the battery in just 5 minutes!
