Kawasaki Ninja 300 BS6 Launch Timeline Revealed, Likely To Get A Price Cut
Kawasaki may resort to further localisation, making the Ninja 300 even more affordable
The BS4 Ninja 300 was priced at Rs 2.98 lakh. To be priced even more competitively. Components such as the bodywork, headlight, brakes, tyres and cables are already localised. Expected to be launched around the end of the first quarter of 2021.Kawasaki is reportedly planning to launch the BS6 Ninja 300 by the end of the first quarter of 2021. More interestingly, the brand may resort to further localisation, dropping the price of the bike even more. If Kawasaki were to play it right, we believe, it would price the bike around Rs 2.5 lakh, putting it squarely against the BS6 TVS Apache RR 310, BS6 KTM RC 390 and the newly launched BS6 BMW G 310 R. For reference, the BS4 Ninja was priced at Rs 2.98 lakh which made it the cheapest parallel-twin sportbike in India.
The BS4 model already sold in healthy numbers and became the main source of income for the Japanese brand in India. Slashing the price to an estimated Rs 2.5 lakh would make the Ninja 300 even more accessible to enthusiasts, reeling in more numbers for the brand. Kawasaki already localises the bike’s bodywork, headlight, brakes, cables, wheels and tyres. So, it’ll be interesting to see what the manufacturer targets next. Reports suggest the company could look at localising a couple of engine internals.

Don’t expect any drastic updates on the bike. The BS6 Ninja 300 will retain the same design, suspension and braking components as before. There could be a slight difference in power figures, but nothing significant. The BS4 model used a 296cc parallel-twin engine with 39PS and 27Nm of peak torque.
Interestingly, the BS6 Ninja 300 will soon become the second most affordable bike in Kawasaki’s portfolio. It’s also working on an entry-level roadster, called the W175, that will soon make its way to India. The almost production-ready test mule has already been spotted doing rounds in India.
