Kawasaki Ninja 650 Gets Safer For 2023
But the update also comes with a decent price hike
More than two months after the international bike got updated, Kawasaki India has now also launched the 2023 iteration of the Ninja 650 at Rs 7,12,000 (ex-showroom Delhi) or Rs 17,000 more expensive than its predecessor.
For this money, the Japanese middleweight now gets the Kawasaki TRaction Control System (KTRC). The KTRC is a two-level system and can also be turned off completely. This makes it the second bike in Kawasaki’s 650cc lineup to get KTRC, after the Versys 650 got it earlier this year. So we reckon the Z650 may get the same in its 2023 update.

Powering the bike is the same 649cc parallel-twin mill that makes 68PS and 64Nm and comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. In terms of features, the bike’s 4.3-inch TFT with smartphone connectivity has also been unaltered.
Currently, the Ninja 650 is available in one colour – Lime Green. The added safety net of a traction control system is appreciated and the Rs 17,000 increase in the asking price is pretty reasonable. Despite the price hike, it’s a lot more affordable than its direct rival, the Honda CBR650R, which carries an absurdly high Rs 9,35,441 (ex-showroom Gurgaon) price.
