Kawasaki Ninja ZX-4R Inline-our Supersport Launch Date Revealed In Indonesia
The mental supersport could make as much power as the Ninja 650
After months of speculation over the expected launch of the Kawasaki ZX-4R, a launch teaser released in Indonesia suggests the inline-four supersport could arrive on October 1. Much like the smaller ZX-25R, which was selectively sold across a few Asian markets, the ZX-4R too will be sold selectively before making its way to America and Europe.
A recently leaked VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) document suggested the ZX-4R will be retailed in two variants - ‘PP’ and ‘SP’. We are expecting the ‘PP’ variant to be the base model and the ‘SP’ to be the higher-spec variant with ABS. The document also revealed the supersport will feature a 399cc, liquid-cooled, in-line four-cylinder motor. The expected power is somewhere around 70PS, for context, the ZX-4R will make 2PS more than a Ninja 650.
The upcoming ZX-4R could also feature hardware like fully adjustable suspension at either end and premium braking hardware from Brembo. As for electronic aids, we could expect the routine – traction control, ride modes and cornering ABS as standard.

Kawasaki Has Updated The Z900 With New Colours In India
Unfortunately, though, we are not resting our hopes on getting this mental sub-500cc supersport in India. Why? Kawasaki did not retail the ZX-25R either, and we feel the ZX-4R will be no different. Here’s another reason why. The Ninja 400, although a great motorcycle, gets basic equipment compared to the competition. However, it’s retailing in India at Rs 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom) because it’s a CBU (completely-built-up) unit, making it almost Rs 1.5 lakh more than the KTM RC390. Imagine how much more this would cost.
