Kawasaki Vulcan S BS6 Launched; Bears A Premium Of Roughly Rs 30,000
Sadly, no colour TFT screen and smartphone connectivity for the Vulcan
Kawasaki has launched the BS6 Vulcan S at Rs 5,79,000 (ex-showroom India). The cruiser comes bearing a premium of Rs 29,100 over the outgoing model. Bookings for the bike have begun but Kawasaki has not yet revealed when the delivery process will commence.
Now Rs 29,100 is a steep ask for a bike that has pretty much not received any new features other than an emission-compliant motor. On the other hand, its 650cc siblings -- the Ninja 650 and the Z650 -- received a whole host of updates (new styling, LED headlight, colour TFT screen, smartphone connectivity and new rubber), justifying the steep price hike. This one just feels a bit too much.
The Vulcan S now arrives in Metallic Flat Raw Graystone colour, which is a dual-tone grey/black colour scheme with red accents on the tank and radiator guard as well as red rim tapes and monoshock. It does look slightly more tempting than the bland dull black colour scheme of the older BS4 bike.
Kawasaki is yet to divulge further details regarding changes in the bike’s performance figures or the weight. We will be updating the story once we receive the same.
The price buffer between the Vulcan S and the Harley-Davidson Street 750 is now a whopping Rs 1.10 lakh. Harley recently reduced the asking price of the Street 750 by a significant margin and hence, the difference looks massive.
