Kawasaki Z650-rivalling Triumph Trident 660 To Launch Soon
It is likely to take place in the first week of April
The hotly anticipated Triumph Trident 660 is all set to rock the country with teasers of its arrival already surfacing on the internet. It could be launched in the first week of April at an expected price of Rs 7 lakh to Rs 7.50 lakh, making it the most affordable Triumph on sale in the country.
Triumph’s sole aim with the Trident was to make its presence felt in the mid-displacement naked segment currently dominated by the Kawasaki Z650. Globally, you have lots of twins and just one inline-four option (Honda CB650R, which is also likely to make its way into the country soon). Triumph felt a triple could be the way to go for the space, hence, it developed a Street Triple 765 scaled-down 660cc inline three-cylinder engine.
Benelli TRK 502 BS6 Road Test Review This Is The Most EXTREME Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 We’ve Ever Seen! Triumph Trident vs Kawasaki Z650 - Image ComparisonWhile it shares the motor with the Street Triple S, the Trident’s unit is slightly detuned to suit its friendly demeanour. 81PS and 64Nm are decent output figures, certainly higher than what you get from the Kawasaki Z650. Plus, it comes with a healthy amount of electronic rider aids, something that is absent on the Z650.
The Trident gets non-adjustable Showa suspension units and Nissin floating calipers. The 17-inch alloys come shod with super grippy Michelin Road 5 rubber.
