Keeway 500cc Cruiser India Launch Soon!

Modified On May 2, 2022 04:13 PM By Aamir Momin for Keeway K-Light 250V

Hungary-based bikemaker is all set to enter India this month, and its maiden product will be the K-light 500

[UPDATE: Yezdi has launched three new bikes in India, Keeway K-Light 250V cruiser, Vieste 300 maxi-scooter and the Sixties 300i retro scooter. Full details in our launch story]

Keeway, a Hungarian auto-manufacturer, is all ready to set foot in India. We recently received a mysterious ‘Block Your Date’ mail for the 22nd of April, hinting at the bikemaker's entry into the Indian two-wheeler market.

Keeway is owned by Zhejiang Qianjiang Motors, which also owns the Benelli motorcycles brand; and any new bike being introduced in the Indian markets is likely to share the already existing Benelli bikes' platform.

The Hungarian brand has teased a cruiser, which looks like one of the K-light series motorcycles. Given Keeway’s relationship with Benelli and the fact that the teaser shows dual exhausts, it will likely be a twin-cylinder motorcycle. The Benelli 502 C in particular seems to be the best fit for platform sharing as it is already BS6-compliant. The 500cc, twin-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine produces 47.5PS and 46Nm in the Benelli, but it could be tuned to produce different outputs in the Keeway.

In terms of design, the upcoming Keeway cruiser will draw inspiration from the Keeway K-Light series and could come with similar styling, albeit with a brawny 500cc parallel-twin engine.

We can expect the K-light Series Cruiser by Keeway to launch in the coming two-three weeks, and it can be expected to be priced at Rs 5 lakh (ex-showroom), similar to what the Benelli 502 C cruiser costs in India.

The upcoming cruiser will rival the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650, and if you want a parallel-twin performance with not-so-aggressive ergonomics and are not willing to wait, then the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 is a great choice.
