New Bike Launches in 2021--Rs 3 Lakh To 5 Lakh

Here’s what you can expect next year from the segment

The past few years have seen a tremendous growth in the interest of the Indian janta in performance motorcycles. While the sub-3 lakh price bracket has been witnessing quite a lot of action, customers who want the big bike feel without emptying their wallets are left with limited options. Hopefully, 2021 is likely to change that.

Honda CBR500R
Expected price - Rs. 4.99 lakh
Expected launch - Q2 2021
The Japanese sports tourer takes inspiration from the previous-gen CBR1000RR. The bike gets slightly rear-set footpegs and raised clip-on handlebars. It is powered by a 471cc, parallel-twin motor developing 47PS and 45Nm. Other features include full LED illumination, an LCD instrument console and dual channel ABS. The bike is expected to be priced around Rs. 4.99 lakh (ex-showroom).

Benelli 302R
Expected Price: Rs. 4 lakh
Expected launch: Q1 2021
Benelli’s entry-level faired bike hasn’t been updated to meet the BS6 norms yet. We expect Benelli to launch the 302R in the first quarter of 2021. The BS4 bike was powered by a 300cc parallel-twin engine churning 38.26PS and 27Nm. We expect the engine to have slightly different outputs owing to the BS6 updates. The BS4 model was available at Rs. 3.7 lakh and we expect the new bike to be a tad pricier than this.

Benelli TNT 300
Expected price: Rs. 3.15 lakh
Expected launch: Q1 2021
The 302 R’s naked sibling could make a comeback in the first quarter of 2021 in an all-new avatar and with a new name. The bike will continue to draw power from the 300cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin engine producing 38.26PS and 27Nm. While the older model was priced at Rs 2.99 lakh, we expect the new model to demand a premium of around Rs 10,000 to 15,000.

Kawasaki Ninja 300
Expected Price: Rs. 3.15 lakh
Expected launch: Q2 2021
After a brief hiatus, Kawasaki’s entry-level supersport is likely to make a comeback in the first half of 2021. The bike will be powered by the same 296cc parallel-twin engine and like with the previous model, Kawasaki will rely on heavy localisation to keep the price in check. The previous bike was priced at Rs 2.98 lakh, with the brand now increasing the price across the lineup and the BS6 update, the 2021 Ninja 300 could be priced around Rs 3.15 lakh.
