New BSA 650 Scrambler Revealed Internationally
The Scrambler is based on the same 650cc platform as the BSA Gold Star 650
Quick News Highlights:
The BSA 650 Scrambler comes with a modern and rugged design It is likely to get the same 650cc single-cylinder engine as the Gold Star It should be called the ‘BSA B65 Scrambler’British bike maker, BSA, has revealed a new 650cc Scrambler globally at the 'Motorcycle Live' event in Birmingham, UK. The bike is based on the same platform as the BSA Gold Star. However, the new scrambler stands apart because of its rugged looks and a more modern design and paint scheme. It should be called the BSA B65 Scrambler.
The BSA B65 Scrambler features a typical scrambler bike design and looks rugged from every angle. The bike has a round LED headlight with a headlight grille, a braced handlebar, different side panels, a raised front and rear fender, a single-piece seat, and different exhaust and block pattern tyres. The fuel tank looks similar to the BSA Gold Star. It also has a BSA logo on the fuel tank and a ‘65’ decal on the side panels.
The BSA 650cc Scrambler will get the same 650cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine from the BSA Gold Star that produces 45.6PS and 55Nm, and is paired with a 5-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. However, we expect the engine to be tuned to suit the scrambler’s characteristics. It may also have a larger rear sprocket for better torque.
The BSA B65 Scrambler has a round digital instrument cluster placed slightly towards the right and is different from the twin pod analogue cluster on the BSA Gold Star. Higher variants could also get smartphone connectivity features.
The BSA B65 Scrambler is likely to get the same frame as the BSA Gold Star, but with a few tweaks. It has a telescopic fork with fork gaiters and twin rear shocks. We expect the suspension travel to be increased as compared to the Gold Star. The bike has disc brakes on both ends, with dual-channel ABS. It is equipped with 19-inch front and 17-inch rear spoke wheels, wrapped with 110-section front and 150-section rear Pirelli Scorpion STR tyres.
Expected Launch Price and Date
The BSA B65 Scrambler will be launched in the United Kingdom by December 2024, and we expect it to launch in India in early 2025. It can be priced at a premium of Rs 10,000 over the BSA Gold Star, which starts from Rs 2,99,990 and goes up to Rs 3,34,990, making the scrambler priced somewhere around Rs 3.40 lakh to Rs 3.45 lakh (all prices ex-showroom). Once launched, it will directly compete against the Royal Enfield Bear 650.
