New Hero Bikes and Electric Scooter Revealed at EICMA 2024

The manufacturer unveiled the Hero Karizma XMR 250, Xtreme 250R, XPulse 210, and Vida Z electric scooter

Hero MotoCorp has unveiled three new bikes and a new electric scooter at the EICMA 2024, in Milan, Italy, including a 250cc faired bike, a 250cc naked bike, a bigger XPulse & a new Vida Z electric scooter. Below are the highlights of each:

Hero Karizma XMR 250

Hero Karizma XMR 250 is a faired bike that comes with a similar design as the smaller Hero Karizma XMR but has slightly more muscular bodywork. The bike also gets the same LED headlight and LED DRL (daytime running light), the same fuel tank and tail section as the Karizma XMR. The Karizma XMR 250 also has a similar exhaust, but the heat shield is different. Even the instrument console seems to be borrowed from the smaller Karizma. It additionally gets a lap timer and drag timer.

The Karizma XMR 250 comes with a 250cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine that produces an output of 30PS and 25Nm. The bike gets an inverted fork and a 6-step adjustable monoshock. It gets disc brakes on both ends with switchable ABS.

Hero Xtreme 250R

Hero Xtreme 250R comes with a sporty street fighter design. It gets an aggressive LED headlight design, a bulky fuel tank and sporty radiator shrouds. The tail section and the exhaust look similar to the Karizma XMR 250. The Xtreme 250R is also equipped with the same 250cc,liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine as the Karizma XMR 250, which makes 30PS and 25Nm. It even gets the same suspension setup with an inverted fork and a 6-step adjustable monoshock. 

Features on the new Xtreme 250R include turn-by-turn navigation, music control, automatic LED Projector headlamp with LED DRLs, and switchable ABS modes. It also gets a lap timer and a drag timer. It may get the same instrument console as the Karizma 250R.

Hero XPulse 210

The new Hero XPulse 210 is a more powerful version of the Hero XPulse 200 4V. It comes with a few design tweaks including a taller windscreen, a flatter seat, different side panels, a slimmer tail section and a longer tail rack. It could even replace the Hero XPulse Pro in future.

The XPulse 210 is powered by a 210cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine like the Karizma XMR, which makes 24.8PS and 20.7Nm. It is paired with a 6-speed transmission with a slip-and-assist clutch. Featurewise, the XPulse 210 gets a 4.2-inch TFT instrument console with smartphone connectivity that displays all the essential information.

Hero XPulse 210 gets a telescopic fork with 210mm travel and a monoshock with 205mm suspension travel. For perspective, the Hero XPulse Pro comes with a 250mm at the front and 220mm at the rear suspension travel. It also gets switchable ABS modes for different terrains. It has a 220mm ground clearance which is the same as the standard XPulse 200 4V.

Vida Z Electric Scooter

The Vida Z electric scooter is a family-focused electric scooter. It comes with a simple and minimalistic design and gets a wide seat, spacious floorboard and a pillion backrest. The Vida Z is driven by a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). The scooter gets a removable battery pack and it can support a range of battery capacities, starting from 2.2 kWh to 4.4 kWh battery packs.

The electric scooter has a touchscreen TFT instrument console with smartphone connectivity. It is equipped with modern features like navigation, geofencing, and an anti-theft device. You can also monitor and track the vehicle’s health and the electric scooter will also get OTA (over-the-air) updates.

Hero MotoCorp is expanding its portfolio with bigger bikes like the Karizma XMR 250, Xtreme 250R, and XPulse 210, and populating its EV range with new scooters like the Vida Z electric scooter. This will benefit the manufacturer and offer more options to choose from for the customers. 

The new Karizma XMR 250 and Xtreme 250R are mainly focused on the South American and European markets, however, they will come to Indian markets as well. Moreover, the XPulse 210 could replace the XPulse 200 4V Pro and the Vida Z will help the Indian manufacturer expand its EV sub-brand in the UK and European markets. While these are the only details on these new bikes and electric scooters which were unveiled at the EICMA 2024. We expect to get more details at the Hero World Event, which will be held in early 2025.

Hero has also revealed an updated Mavrick 440 at the EICMA. The bike comes with a new colour scheme, updated features and underpinnings.
