New Suzuki GSX-S300 Variant Spied

Modified On Apr 22, 2019 04:10 PM By Niraj Kakade for Suzuki Gixxer SF 250

The 300cc bike will feature the same underpinnings as the GSX-S300

Features a completely new design with taller and wider handlebars, a shorter tail, and more. It’ll feature the same underpinnings as the upcoming Hajoue DR300, which could be launched as the Suzuki GSX-S300 in international markets. The motorcycle might be limited to the Chinese market.

We’ve been expecting Suzuki to debut the GSX-S300 (also known as the Hajoue DR300) both in India and international markets for a while now. As our wait continues, Suzuki’s Chinese partner Hajoue is planning to introduce a new variant of the DR300 in the coming months.

Based on leaked patent images, it seems that the new bike sports a naked streetfighter look like the DR300. However, the new motorcycle features some major design changes. For starters, it sports a bigger and wider handlebar, a shorter and lower tail, a twin exhaust setup and a completely different headlight assembly along with LED DRLs.

Underneath all this, however, we suspect it to pack the same 300cc, parallel-twin engine as the DR300 along with the same chassis, upside down forks and wheels. If we were to guess, Hajoue might introduce this new variant exclusively for China. That said, there is a possibility of it reaching European showrooms as well given the presence of side reflectors and large rear number plate holder.

As for an India launch, we think it's safer to place our bets on the motorcycle that was spied earlier to debut here with Suzuki GSX-S300 badging. Whether this other model will make it to India is yet to be seen. However, we have our reservations. But expect Suzuki India to launch a faired-version of the GSX-S300, just like the Gixxer and the Gixxer SF
