Now Bajaj Platina 100 Also Gets A Disc Variant
The extra safety aid comes at a premium of Rs 2,221
Bajaj has launched a new front disc variant of its popular Platina 100, making it the only 100cc bike in the country to get the advanced braking hardware. It is available on the ES model and is priced at Rs 60,698 (ex-showroom Delhi), which is Rs 2,221 more than its drum brake model. Expect the trim to be in showrooms in the coming days, so you can book the bike and get it soon.
The obvious difference on this trim is that you now get a 240mm disc brake at the front with a 110mm rear drum brake. CBS remains standard but due to the addition of the disc brake, the weight has gone up to 119kg, 1.5kg more than the ES drum model. There are no other changes to report on the bike.
All trims of the Platina 100 employ the same 102cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine with an e-carburettor that makes 7.9PS and 8.3Nm. The engine is one of the most frugal powerplants in the segment. Along with a plush ride setup offered by the telescopic fork (with relatively more travel) and gas-charged twin shocks, the Platina 100 proves to be an ideal fit for semi-urban and rural India.
Sweetening the deal, this disc trim is priced at just Rs 198 more than the base version of the Hero Splendor Plus BS6 which is devoid of electric start, front disc brake, and the i3S technology.
