Revolt RV400 vs PureEV eTryst 350: Image Comparison

Published On May 25, 2022 12:25 PM By Bernard Mascarenhas for Revolt RV400

Here’s how the new eTryst 350 stacks up against the Revolt RV400

While there have been a number of electric scooters in India, the electric motorcycle segment has seen very few players. Revolt Motors has been enjoying a monopoly ever since it launched the RV300 and RV400 here back in 2019. However, now it seems that the Revolt twins are about to be challenged with the arrival of Pure EV’s eTryst 350.

While the Revolt RV400 is going for a buff look, the eTryst 350’s design on the other hand appears to be leaner in order to strike a perfect balance between sportbike and commuter. Also, as can be seen from the images, the Revolt bike gets an upside down front fork and a monoshock, while the eTryst gets a more conventional telescopic fork and dual rear shocks.

Looking at both bikes from the front, the RV400 definitely stands out with its unique headlight design, coupled with the flared tank extensions, whereas the eTryst looks a lot more conventional, and its design doesn’t stand out as much. From some angles, the eTryst 350’s headlight bears a slight resemblance to the one on the Bajaj Pulsar NS200.

The RV400 is powered by a 3kW motor that draws power from a 3.24 kWh battery, which offers a claimed range of up to 150 km in eco mode, 100 km in normal mode and 80 km in sports mode. The eTryst, on the other hand, gets a 3kW motor capable of a peak power output of 4kW, coupled to a 3.5 kWh battery, that offers a claimed range of up to 140 km in drive mode, 110 km in cross over mode and 90 km in thrill mode. One radical difference between the two powertrains is that while the RV400’s motor is mid-mounted and uses a belt drive, the eTryst uses a hub motor.

The cockpit view from the RV400 reveals a LCD display that gives information about remaining battery charge, range, and ambient temperature. The Revolt can also be paired to a smartphone app via Bluetooth and also comes with a 4G-enabled sim card which communicates the bike’s telemetry with the company so that they can better tune the control software and send over the air updates to the bike.  The App offers a whole range of features to riders, that are explained here. The eTryst, on the other hand, gets a 7-inch negative LED display that also shows information such as battery charge and other ride statistics.

Both motorcycles claim a top speed of 85 kmph in their performance modes. However, they bikes do not support fast charging, although both companies state that there is an option of introducing the feature in future. The RV400 requires 4.5 hours for its battery to be charged from 0-100 per cent, while the eTryst 350 takes 6 hours for the same.

The RV400 is priced at Rs 1,32,000 and the eTryst is priced at Rs. 1,54,999 (both prices are ex-showroom without subsidies).
