Same same but different:
Both the RV400 and RV300 look the same. However, look closer and you will notice that the side panels that wrap around the battery do not have the aggressive cuts and creases like the ones on the larger RV300. Even the footpegs are different units and have different mounting points. In fact, the RV300’s footpegs can be adjusted 6 ways while the RV400 offers 2-way adjustment. The RV300 comes in Neon Black and Smokey Grey paint schemes while the RV400 is available in Rebel Red and Cosmic Black.
Different features:
Both bikes get similar features like the headlamp, tail lamp, turn indicators and digital instrument console. They both get a start/stop button mounted on the fuel tank but with the RV400, you have the additional option of starting your bike via a key fob or by swiping a button on the Revolt app on your smartphone. Both bikes 4G connectivity and geofencing features on the Revolt app but the RV300 misses on the artificial sound tech.
Different powertrains:
The RV400 has its motor mounted under the battery and has power transferred to the rear wheel via a belt drive. In comparison, the RV300 gets a smaller hub-mounted motor. Power-wise, the RV400 gets a larger 3KW electric motor that gives the bike a top speed of 80kmph. The RV300 gets a smaller 1.5KW motor that offers a top speed of 65kmph. Both bikes, however, get 3 riding modes.
Different battery packs:
The more powerful RV400 gets a larger 3.24KWh lithium-ion battery that in eco range gives the bike a claimed range of 150km. It takes 3 hours to charge from 0-75 percent while a full charge takes 4.5 hours. The smaller RV300 gets a 2.7KWh lithium-ion battery that in Eco mode offers a claimed range of 180km. It takes 3 hours to charge the battery upto 75 percent and upto 4.2 hours for a full charge. Both bikes get swappable battery tech.
Different underpinnings:
While both bikes look similar, they have some changes in underpinnings. The more premium RV400 gets a cast aluminium swingarm that helps it handle better. To save costs, the RV300 gets a box-section swingarm that's smartly covered by a plastic shroud. The smaller RV300 has a taller 826mm seat compared to the RV400’s 814mm seat. At 101kg, it is also 7kg lighter than the RV400. The absence of a motor under the battery pack also means that the RV300 has a higher 225mm ground clearance compared to the RV400’s 215mm ground clearance.
Pricing:
Revolt has a special purchase plan for its electric motorcycles where instead of paying once, you pay a small amount per month for 37 months. The larger RV400 gets 2 plans for its 2 variants. For the RV400 Std, you pay Rs 3,499 per month and for the RV400 Premium you pay Rs 3,999 per month. For the smaller RV300, you end up paying Rs 2,999.
