Royal Enfield 650cc Cruiser Spied With Accessories, Looks Launch-ready
The 650cc cruiser will likely be Royal Enfield’s flagship motorcycle, positioned above the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650
The Royal Enfield 650cc cruiser will get an inverted fork, a first for the company on a production model. Will be powered by the same engine as the 650 twins. Will come with a laidback riding stance, complete with forward-set footpegs. Likely to be launched by the end of this year at the earliest. The Royal Enfield 650cc cruiser has been spotted testing yet again. This time, it features a host of accessories and looks production ready. Expect Royal Enfield to launch the bike by the end of this year or early next year. Likely to be priced at around Rs 3.5 lakh (ex-showroom), this will be the most expensive Royal Enfield yet, slotting above the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650.
Coming back to the test mule, it features accessories including a proper full-sized windshield, a chunky RE-branded crash guard with auxiliary lamps mounted on it, a cushioned pillion backrest and a pair of broader pillion footrests. A closer look also reveals a small portion of the instrument cluster. It will likely be a semi-digital unit with a tripper pod housing the turn-by-turn navigation feature offered as standard. While the bike spied earlier had coloured indicator lenses (likely bulbs), the one spied recently features clear lens ones (presumably LEDs). This could also be a part of the accessory kit.
The motorcycle will likely be powered by the same 648cc air-oil-cooled parallel-twin engine in the same tune as the 650 twins, producing an identical 47PS and 52Nm, paired to a 6-speed gearbox with a slip-and-assist clutch. In a first for a production-spec Royal Enfield, the 650cc cruiser features an inverted fork up front. We personally think it’s an overkill as the motorcycle isn’t exactly a performance-oriented one. Nonetheless, it ups the bike’s premium quotient. The rear features twin shock absorbers, and the bike rolls on alloy wheels with meaty tubeless tyres. Braking is via discs at both ends, with dual-channel ABS as standard.

The motorcycle will go up against the Kawasaki Vulcan S (priced at Rs 6.1 lakh), which is the only other 650cc cruiser available in the country. Another alternative would be the Benelli 502 C, which retails for Rs 5.09 lakh (both ex-showroom, India).
