The bike is the first Himalayan 450 to debut in the Kakkoor mud race

Kochi-based bike modifications shop, Republic of Bikers has unveiled their latest build and it’s a Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 modified to be a gorgeous flat tracker. The bike is also the first Himalayan 450 to debut at the Kakkor mud race. Here’s the bike in action:

For this build, the Himalayan 450 has been stripped down significantly to reduce weight. At the front, the headlight, indicators and instrument console have been removed. The tank grills and crash guards have also been removed. The seat used is a custom race seat from Vendetta - The Project, a automotive design studio that specializes in building custom seats for motorcycles. Lastly, the tail section has also been shortened and the tail tidy that houses the tail light and indicators have been removed. 

Additionally, the addition of a RaceDynamics FuelX Pro+ ECU have significantly improved the bike’s acceleration making it better suited for racing. Other modifications include Reise TorqR block pattern tyres for better grip on the dirt track.

The Himalayan 450 is the only ADV offering from Royal Enfield, it comes with a 452cc liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine dubbed Sherpa. The engine is the first liquid-cooled motor from Royal Enfield and it outputs 40.02PS and 40Nm.

It starts at an ex-showroom Delhi price of Rs 2,85,000. The one used for the build is the top-end Hanle Black, which costs Rs 2,98,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). The Himalayan 450 rivals KTM 390 Adventure, BMW G 310 GS, Yezdi Adventure and the upcoming Hero XPulse 400.
