Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 Spotted Again With Touring-friendly Accessories

Modified On Sep 7, 2022 03:00 PM By Nishaad for Royal Enfield Himalayan 450

It’s seen with panniers and a top box

After being officially teased in August, the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 has been spotted testing once again. This time it’s seen with aluminium panniers and a top box, along with a rear luggage rack, which probably will be offered as standard, something Royal Enfield already does with the current Himalayan. So in typical Royal Enfield fashion, we expect the upcoming ADV to get a bunch of accessories with several touring-friendly bits. The instrument console too, is clearly visible now and the photos show that it’s a single pod unit, which is likely to be a semi-digital one possibly with smartphone connectivity.

The Royal Enfield Himalayan 450’s design seems to be a departure from the current format, especially because of the new fuel tank and front brace. Despite it running the same 21-inch front and 17-inch rear wire-spoke rims, the upswept tank gives the motorcycle a tall stance. As we saw in the official teaser, the upcoming ADV gets an all-LED lighting, a first for the Chennai-based bikemaker.

Earlier spy shots showed that the ADV gets fancy-looking, Harley-style, taillight-integrated LED indicators.

The Himalayan 450 LC will get an all new 450cc engine, which is liquid-cooled; a very first for the veteran bikemaker. It is likely to make similar power and torque figures as its direct rival, the KTM 390 Adventure, which produces 43.5 PS and 37Nm.

We expect the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 to be unveiled at the EICMA 2022, with the launch likely to happen at the Rider Mania 2022 in November. The upcoming ADV is expected to come with a price tag of around Rs 2.8 lakh (ex-showroom). The Himalayan 450 will compete against the KTM 390 Adventure and the upcoming Hero 450 ADV.
