Prices have gone up by a considerable margin

Royal Enfield has introduced new colour schemes for its popular 650cc bikes -- the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650. The new body shades are available at a premium. That said, some of the previous colour schemes have been retained. Check out the new paint schemes and revised prices (ex-showroom, Delhi) below:

All the colour variants of the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650, except for the Dux Deluxe, get black fenders and spoke rims. Likewise, all colour variants of the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 get black spoke rims and fenders, except for the Orange Crush colour scheme. Royal Enfield says the rims and fenders have been blacked out following a good response from the community. They were earlier available only in the more premium colour models. Both bikes now get fork gaiters as standard for extra protection.

We particularly like the Downtown Drag scheme on the Interceptor, which lends a stealthy vibe but with neon-like undertones. As for the Continental GT 650, it’s good to see Royal Enfield bring back the Continental GT 535’s red colour. But more importantly, the brand has finally added the British Racing Green livery, the quintessential colour of the UK’s motorsport vehicles. The best bit is that it costs the same as the base red colour.

Royal Enfield now also offers a ribbed touring seat as an accessory at Rs 3,325. The base accessory touring dual seat retails at Rs 2,800. Of course, you also have a range of other add-ons to choose from, including flyscreens, engine guards, sump guards, rear view mirrors, and the likes. There are a couple of new riding gear on offer as well.

Overall, the new colour schemes look absolutely fantastic, but the steep premium is a bit of a let-down. But even then, the Royal Enfield 650 twins are by far the most affordable 650cc bikes in the country. Which colour do you like the most? Do let us know in the comments.
