Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Launch Tomorrow

The upcoming cruiser gets an all-new frame and motor

It gets a 349cc single-cylinder engine that delivers 20.4PS and 27Nm. Features a semi-digital instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity. Expected to be priced around Rs 1.68 lakh. 

After being delayed several times, Royal Enfield will finally launch the Meteor 350 tomorrow. It will be an all-new product from the Chennai-based bikemaker and the first motorcycle to use its new J-platform. The Meteor 350 could be called the spiritual successor to the now-discontinued Thunderbird 350X. Besides a new motor and frame, it gets interesting features as well. It will come in three variants: Fireball, Stellar and Supernova.

Styling wise, the Meteor 350 carries the same lines as the Thunderbird 350X. While it missed out on the Thunderbird’s projector headlamp setup, it gets a semi-digital instrument cluster with Bluetooth connectivity and navigation. The top-spec Supernova variant gets a windshield and rear backrest as standard. 

It comes with an all-new 350cc long-stroke motor that's expected to be more refined than the 347cc mill on the Classic 350. It delivers 20PS and 27Nm of torque. In terms of underpinnings, it gets a new double-cradle frame that replaces the previous single-cradle unit. The suspension components are relatively simple: telescopic forks and dual hydraulic shock absorbers. Like the Thunderbird 350X, it gets alloy wheels with tubeless tyres. Braking is via disc brakes at both ends. 

The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 will compete against the Honda H’ness CB350 and Jawa Perak.
