The Royal Enfield Meteor 350 Is likely to be launched by the end of this month. Expected to start from around Rs 1.75 lakh (ex-showroom). This is the first Royal Enfield to pack a smartphone-compatible instrument cluster with turn-by-turn navigation.

More detailed specifications of the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 have been leaked online. This time around more intricate details about the upcoming cruiser’s underpinnings have been revealed. Here’s a comparison of the specifications with the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X:

As you can see from the table, the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 makes slightly more power but slightly later down the RPM range. That said, expect this engine to rev quicker than the Royal Enfield Thunderbird 350X’s UCE motor, not to mention the possibility of having a counterbalancer in the new J-platform engine. While some of the details about the Meteor 350’s transmission were leaked earlier, there has been no word on the number of gears. It is likely to be a 6-speed unit, considering the gearbox casing looks similar to the one on the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650. It also gets a smaller fuel tank than the Thunderbird 350X, which might result in a slightly lower range. But only a proper road test will tell us if that’s really the case.

The motorcycle might come with a relatively less sophisticated rear suspension but it offers a more versatile 6-step preload adjustability. The bigger brakes coupled with the fatter tyres and smaller rear wheel should help in the motorcycle’s handling.

As far as the feature list is concerned, Royal Enfield has chosen to give the Meteor a simpler halogen headlamp with LED DRL. On the other hand, the Thunderbird 350X featured a halogen projector headlamp with LED DRL. The most noteworthy feature in the Meteor 350 is the semi-digital twin-pod instrument cluster with smartphone compatibility and turn-by-turn navigation. You can read more about it here. There's also a switchgear-mounted USB charging port for added convenience.

Going by the leaked pricing, expect the Royal Enfield Meteor 350 to start from around Rs 1.75 lakh (ex-showroom). The upcoming cruiser is likely to be launched by the end of this month in three variants. It will go up against the Bajaj Dominar 250 and the Jawa Forty Two.
