Royal Enfield Rider Mania 2022 Likely To Witness Launch Of Super Meteor 650, Shotgun 650

Modified On Oct 28, 2022 11:07 AM By Nishaad for Royal Enfield Shotgun 650

Both of these cruisers will use the same 650cc engine from the Interceptor 650

The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 and the Shotgun 650, two of Royal Enfield’s most-awaited bikes are likely to be launched sometime next month. We guess both the bikes could be unveiled at EICMA this year, before an official launch at Rider Mania 2022, the annual party fest for Royal Enfield fanboys. The former is slated to take place from November 8 to 13, while the latter will happen from November 18 to 20.

The Super Meteor 650 was originally spied over two years ago and here’s everything that’s changed on it over the past two years. Its latest sighting, though, was earlier this month. The Shotgun 650, on the other hand, was last seen a month ago. Given how successful and impressive the 650cc twins (i.e. Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650) have been, the expansion of the platform was inevitable and definitely exciting.

Both the bikes are likely to be powered by the familiar 648cc air and oil-cooled parallel-twin motor that makes 47.45PS and 52Nm on the Interceptor. Royal Enfield might just tinker a bit with the engine tune, ignition maps or final drives so that these cruisers offer a slightly different (read American cruiser). It’ll be mated to a 6-speed gearbox along with a slip-and-assist clutch. The Shotgun 650 could be priced around the Rs 3.25 lakh mark, while the Super Meteor could carry a tag of about Rs 3.5 lakh (both prices ex-showroom).

Along with these two cruisers, Royal Enfield has a couple of other motorcycles in the pipeline too. With the Himalayan 450 being spotted last month and the commencement of the Scrambler 650’s testing in India, the bikemaker sure has a long and ambitious lineup for India and we’re here for it!
