Royal Enfield Scrambler 650 Spotted In The Urban Jungle
Based on the Interceptor 650, the Scrambler 650 gets distinct scrambler elements and hardware upgrades
Is it even a week without someone spotting one of the upcoming Royal Enfield bikes? Most of us in the Indian auto industry would say no, and for good reason. Keeping up the tradition of weekly spy shots, this week is the turn of the Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650.
The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650-based scrambler has been in the works for quite some time, and it has been spotted multiple times as well. The latest spy shot shows the bike at a fuel pump. And it is safe to say that the bike looks really rugged, very much like a scrambler. Recently, we had reported that this bike will be called Interceptor Bear 650.
While it is based on the Interceptor, it gets a bunch of scrambler elements like a ribbed seat, raised handlebar, oval side panels and a two-in-one exhaust – this should result in considerable weight reduction.
Apart from this, the hardware is different too: USD fork and dual shock absorbers. It runs on spoke wheels wrapped in Pirelli Scorpion Rally STR dual sport rubbers; however, the production bike could come with alternative tyres from Ceat.
In terms of powertrain, it will get the same air-/oil-cooled 648cc parallel twin as the existing Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650. Head here for more details on the bike.
Expect the Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650 to come bearing a price tag between Rs 3.5 lakh and Rs 4 lakh (ex-showroom). It’s likely to be launched in mid-2024, and once here, it will rival the Moto Morini Seiemmezzo 6 ½.
