Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 Spied Abroad, New Details Revealed

Modified On Apr 18, 2022 12:55 PM By Praveen M. for Royal Enfield Shotgun 650

The production version of the Royal Enfield SG650 Concept could be launched later this year

The production version of the Royal Enfield SG650 Concept, likely called the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650, was spied in India for the first time in February, and now, the bike has been spotted abroad as well.

Compared to the one spied in India, the test mule spotted abroad comes in a single seater configuration, staying true to the bobber genes. It also gets a simpler-looking pair of alloys, unlike the dual-tone ones on the India-spec bike, and rolls on Pirelli Phantom Sportscomp tyres. The headlight cowl encloses the offset instrument cluster, and is reminiscent of the setup in the Royal Enfield Scram 411. It also features an LED headlight, a wide, easy-to-reach handlebar and mid-mounted footpegs which should ensure comfortable ergonomics. Adding to the sporty bobber appeal are the chopped front and rear fenders and a pair of blacked out, upswept pea-shooter exhausts.

The Royal Enfield Bobber 650 will be powered by the same engine as the 650 twins, the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650. In the twins, the 648cc parallel-twin air-cooled engine with oil cooler produces 47.6PS and 52Nm, and it’ll likely be in the same tune in the bobber as well. It also gets a premium inverted front fork (which will first debut in the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650), twin rear shock absorbers, and disc brakes at both ends with ABS.

Royal Enfield will launch the Super Meteor 650 first, followed by the Bobber 650, which could be either by the end of this year or early next year. It could carry a price tag of Rs 3 lakh (ex-showroom), and will be the only bobber in the 650cc cruiser segment in India. If you’re not willing to wait for that long, you can also take a look at the only other 650cc cruiser alternative, the Kawasaki Vulcan S.
