Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 Spotted Abroad With Accessories

The test mule looks production-ready and could be launched in mid-2022

A new spy shot of the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 has surfaced online. The 650cc cruiser has been spotted testing abroad in a production-ready form, featuring a range of touring-friendly accessories.

The motorcycle can be seen carrying a top box on its tail rack, a hard case pannier on the left, an engine guard with auxiliary lights, a flat footrest for the pillion and a tall windscreen.

The test mule also features an asymmetric twin-pod instrument cluster. Expect the main pod to be a semi-digital unit, just like the one in the Royal Enfield Meteor 350, and the smaller pod is likely for the Tripper navigation.

The motorcycle is likely to use the same 648cc parallel-twin air-/oil-cooled motor that also powers the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650. This engine delivers 47.65PS and 52Nm in the 650 twins, and expect it to carry over the same tune in the cruiser. The underpinnings on the upcoming bike will include a USD fork up front (a first for a production Royal Enfield), twin shock absorbers at the rear and disc brakes at both ends with dual-channel ABS.

Recently our colleagues at PowerDrift had also spotted the accessorized version of the upcoming 650cc bike here in India.

We expect the Super Meteor 650 to hit the Indian market by mid-2022 at a price of around Rs 3.5 lakh (ex-showroom). The 650cc platform has a huge potential for mile-munching and the upcoming Super Meteor 650 is the perfect offering to exploit the platform’s capabilities. Its only rival will be the more expensive Kawasaki Vulcan S, priced at Rs 6.16 lakh (ex-showroom).
