India-bound 2023 Yamaha R3 Debuts Abroad In Snazzy New Colours

The twin-cylinder supersport should launch in India in the next few weeks

Yamaha has launched the 2023 iteration of the lovely YZF-R3 in Japan and we are eagerly waiting for the supersport to debut in India. Which, news flash, might happen any week now.

The more important bit here is that the 2023 model of the bike features LED turn indicators. This upgrade not only makes them brighter but also improves the design and appeal of the supersport as the bulb indicators in the previous iteration were just an eyesore.

In addition to the turn indicators, the supersport also flaunts flashy new colour schemes. The Blue and Black colours are exactly as the ones seen on the European R3s; however, the snazzy Purple shade was first seen on the R25 in the Malaysian markets.

Summing up, everything else on the supersport remains exactly the same, like the saying goes “If it ain't broken, don't fix it.” It is powered by the same 321cc twin-cylinder engine that makes 42PS and 29.5Nm.

The 2023 R3 is priced equivalent to Rs 4.45 lakh in Japan, but it won’t be this expensive here in India. We expect it to come with a price tag of around Rs 4 lakh. Unofficial bookings for the R3 and MT-03 have already commenced.
