Suzuki Gixxer 250, Gixxer SF 250 BS6 Bookings Open
Expected to be launched in the early weeks of April 2020
BS6 Gixxer 250, Gixxer SF 250 remain cosmetically unchanged. Powered by a 249cc, BS6-compliant engine, which produces the same power as before. Bikes were first unveiled at this year’s Auto Expo.Suzuki dealerships across India have started accepting bookings for the BS6 Gixxer 250 and Gixxer SF 250. Interested customers can book either of the bikes for a token amount ranging from Rs 1,000 to Rs 5,000, depending on the dealership. Stocks are likely to arrive at dealerships in the coming week. Expect the bike to be launched by early-April 2020.
Both the streetfighter and the supersport look identical to their BS4 counterparts. There are no cosmetic changes whatsoever. These bikes were already BS6-ready and only needed minor mechanical tweaks to help them comply with the strict emission norms.

Both the BS6 Gixxer 250 and the Gixxer SF 250 employ a 249cc, BS6-compliant fuel-injected single-cylinder engine with a unique oil-cooler. It puts out the same power as before -- 26.5PS at 9300rpm but is a little low on torque, 22.2Nm at 7300rpm compared to 22.6Nm on the BS4 model. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed transmission.

Both bikes carry over the same hardware as before - a telescopic fork, a rear monoshock, and disc brakes at both ends paired with dual-channel ABS. Its 17-inch wheels come wrapped in 110/70-section front and 150/60-section rear radial tyres. In terms of rivals, the BS6 Suzuki Gixxer 250 sits bang in between the Yamaha FZ 250, KTM 250 Duke and the Bajaj Dominar 250 while the SF 250 competes against the Yamaha Fazer 25.
