Technical details of the Suzuki Gixxer 250 are yet to be revealed by the company, but it is expected that this bike would be based on Suzuki GSX platform. If rumors are to be believed, the bike may get a 250cc engine that will produce a maximum power of 30 bhp. Other features that might be seen in this sports machine are:

Newly developed swing arm Anti-locking brakes Full front fairing Inspired design from other GSX-R models

GSX-R1000 and GSX-S1000 of GSX series are the only models of the Japanese manufacturer that are sold in India under superbikes category. Apart from that, 155cc Gixxer and Gixxer SF are the lower displacement models of the same series that were launched in India in September 2014 and October 2015 respectively.

If Suzuki Gixxer 250 makes its way on Indian tracks, it will be in a neck to neck competition with some foreign brands like KTM RC 200, Kawasaki Ninja 300 & Z250, Yamaha YZF-R3, Honda CBR250R and Benelli TNT 300. Talking about Indian manufacturers, Gixxer 250 has its rivals ready in the country as Mahindra Mojo and the upcoming Hero HX250R. Entry-level sports bike segment in India is prepared to welcome the new machine by Suzuki. It will be interesting to see how Indian manufacturers plan to take over the Japanese technology with their new bikes joining in. However, Suzuki Motorcycles India has refused to confirm any launch regarding this particular machine. Also according to reports, the company has denied the production of any such machine.
