Suzuki Gixxer SF 250 Vs Yamaha Fazer 25 Vs Honda CBR250R: Spec Comparison
Which one of these quarter-litre faired motorcycles makes for a good value proposition?
Suzuki has gone up the displacement game with its Gixxer series of motorcycles with the first of them being the full-faired Gixxer SF 250. The company is not done just yet as it will bring the naked Gixxer 250 this year too. But, the Gixxer SF 250 has its work cut out. It has a tough task ahead as it has to go up against the Yamaha Fazer 25 and the Honda CBR250R. Which of these make the most sense? Let’s find out.

The Gixxer and the Ceeber might be equal on power but look closely and you will find that the Suzuki makes its peak power as well as peak torque at a slightly higher rpm. This could mean that it gets an even wider powerband than the CBR250R, a motorcycle known for this very feature. The Yamaha feels severely lacking in the power department once you get her up to triple digit speeds and in this company, its shortcomings are very apparent.

Small, sharp and sporty - the Gixxer SF 250 seems the more focused machine of the three. You sit higher than the rest, the clip-on bars will lends it a bit of forward arching riding posture and the pegs are just a bit rearwards. Plus, it has got a wheelbase which is shorter than all of these bikes and interestingly, it is only 5mm longer than that of the KTM RC 200.
The CBR250R’s comfortable stance will continue to please those who do not want an aggressive riding position but also do not want something as upright as the Fazer 25. You have got to remember that the CBR250R is an eight-year-old bike, with the only changes from the original bike being LED lighting, graphic schemes and BSIV emission norm adherence. And still, the bike has managed to stay relevant.
Again, the Yamaha seems like a downer as it is nowhere as close to the above two in riding dynamics. It has all the makings of a great touring setup as it has got a large fuel tank and upright riding stance but the lack of a sixth gear and not enough power just restricts it to a city slicker.

With the brilliant price tag of Rs 1.7 lakh, the Gixxer SF 250 sits bang in the middle of its two rivals.
