The Suzuki Katana was last showcased here at the 2020 Auto Expo
Suzuki has teased the arrival of the iconic Katana in the Indian market on its social media platforms. We had speculated about the bike coming to our shores earlier, and that is finally coming true. We expect the Suzuki Katata to make its India debut by late July, with an expected price tag of Rs 14 lakh (ex-showroom).
The Suzuki Katana carries forward the iconic bulbous yet sharp body design with an angular flow front to back. It gets a rectangular LED headlight setup, covered by an edgy front cowl and features a wide single-piece setup.
Powering it is a 999cc, inline-four, liquid-cooled engine which is capable of producing 152PS and 106Nm max. The motor is paired with a six-speed transmission, which comes with Suzuki’s clutch assist system and a quickshifter.
The 2022 Suzuki Katana is suspended on a fully adjustable USD fork and link-type suspension. The braking hardware includes dual discs up front and a single disc at the rear, with Brembo radial calipers. It comes with the safety net of Bosch dual channel ABS as standard.
The motorcycle does not just flaunt a host of features when compared with its rivals, but also an intriguing amount of equipment. Notable features include Suzuki Intelligent Ride System (SIRS), three ride modes, and switchable traction control.
When it comes to competitors, the Suzuki Katana does not have any direct rivals in India in terms of specs and price.
