BREAKING: The 2022 KTM 390 Adventure Is Finally Here!
It features a two-mode traction control, new colours, and stronger wheels
The much-awaited 2022 KTM 390 Adventure has been launched in India. The 2022 iteration of the ADV was first unveiled abroad back in December 2021, and now has finally made its way to Indian shores. Bookings have commenced at KTM showrooms across the country.
What’s New?
The already feature-rich 390 Adventure, in its latest avatar, now gets two new traction control modes: Street and Offroad. KTM claims the Offroad mode will allow you to slide the rear wheel, making things easier when going past wet or loose terrain. That said, the Offroad mode will not turn off the traction control, just limit its intervention.
What’s more is a new set of cast wheels that are claimed to be stronger. The wheels now get five spokes instead of six; a configuration KTM claims will increase the stiffness and resistance for the rims. On the visual front, the 390 comes in two new colours: KTM Factory Racing Blue and Dark Galvano Black. Accompanying the new colours are new graphics too.
All of this comes at a cost unfortunately. The 2022 KTM 390 Adventure now carries a price tag of Rs 3,34,895 (ex-showroom Delhi), which is an increase of Rs 6,452 over its predecessor.
Underneath the orange ADV is the familiar 373cc, liquid-cooled, single-cylinder engine pumping out 43.5PS and 37Nm. Inverted forks take care of suspension duties up front along with a preload adjustable monoshock at the back, while the 320mm and 280mm discs ( front and rear, with switchable dual-channel ABS) handle the braking department. The 14.5-litre tank (one litre more than the Duke 390), relaxed ergonomics and windshield make it that much more apt for going long distances. The 2022 KTM 390 Adventure goes up against the BMW G 310 GS, Yezdi Adventure and Royal Enfield Himalayan.
