The Best Royal Enfield 650 Custom Bikes We’ve Seen So Far
These bikes are shining examples of the creative capacity of the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650
The Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650 are some of the most versatile motorcycles in their segment. Their no-frills design and no-nonsense chassis open up a world of endless possibilities for custom bike builders. Here’s a selection of the top five modified bikes we’ve seen so far:
Fearless 650RR
This MiG-21-fighter aircraft-inspired custom Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 is created by Bengaluru-based Bulleteer Customs. The custom house has given it a unique two-tone colour scheme with air-brushed rivets on the left side, emulating an aircraft fuselage. The motorcycle has a fun side too, with the panels on the left painted with 1970s-inspired multicoloured stripes. And to match the show with the go, Bulleteer Customs have given it quite a few tricks up its sleeve.
Royal Brat
As its name suggests, this custom Interceptor 650 is a brat-styled tracker created by Thailand-based K-Speed Customs. They have slapped on a pair of fat rubber and given it a more aggressive riding stance with slammed handlebars and rear-set footpegs. The lighting system is all-LED and the exhausts are aftermarket too. This build cost them an equivalent of around Rs 1.74 lakh. We say, that’s great value considering the bike looks like a million bucks!
Revival X Royal Enfield Desert Runner 650
Ever since the 650 twins broke cover, there have been wild speculations of a Himalayan based on the same platform. While most of us can only dream, Revival Cycles from Texas took matters into their own hands and came up with this hardcore Interceptor 650-based scrambler. Just look at the tall handlebars, bench seat, rugged bash-plate, long-travel suspension, sky-high ground clearance, properly knobby tyres -- this bike is an off-road enthusiast’s wet dream. Some painstaking work has gone into making this motorcycle as functional as possible. Geek out on all of them here.
Regale
If you thought the Interceptor 650 was old school, this gorgeous custom bobber by Hyderabad-based Eimor Customs will make you travel way back in time. Called Regale, the motorcycle exudes vintage vibes throughout, from the custom headlamp bracket, fender-mounted brass number plate and brass elements on the rest of the bodywork to the plush brown leather seat. Oh, and the battery box has been designed to look like vintage ammunition cases. Pretty cool, isn’t it? Here’s a detailed report on the kind of modifications that have gone into this build.
Lock Stock
This is by far the most extreme Royal Enfield build we’ve seen. Built by the manufacturer itself, this bike is a standing testimony of everything that’s unlike a quintessential Royal Enfield bike. We’re talking Harris Performance-enhanced, custom drag-spec chassis, Ohlins suspension, Brembo brakes, and… wait for it… a rebored 865cc engine fed by some sweet nitrous oxide system (NOS)! That ought to leave two red-hot smoking barrels, don’t you think?
