The Royal Enfield Classic 650 and Shotgun 350 Spotted Again!

Lots of new interesting details have been uncovered about both the upcoming bikes

The Royal Enfield Classic 650 and the Shotgun 350 have been in development for some time now and have also been spotted a few times. Now, we've had a closer look at both of them, giving us a very clear glimpse of how the bikes are going to look when launched. 

The Shotgun 350 shares various design elements with the Classic 350 like the headlight nacelle, telescopic fork with fork covers and the side panels. To give it a distinct bobber look, the Shotgun gets an ape-hanger handlebar with the engine and the exhaust blacked-out. It also gets touring mirrors, flatter rider’s footpeg, rotary switchgear like the Meteor 350, LED turn indicators and white-walled tyres adding a vintage look to the upcoming bobber. The bike also comes with a hardcase single-sided commuter pannier with mounts. That said, the touring mirrors, LED indicators, the flatter rider’s footpeg and the pannier setup will likely be part of the accessory package.

One of the most distinct design elements we have noticed in the Shotgun 350 is the rear-seat and the rear fender setup. The pillion seat looks slimmer than the Classic 350 and tapered up at the end with the subframe looking a lot slimmer. We reckon the pillion seat will be easily removable, giving off authentic bobber vibes. It has probably been designed to expose the rear fender like a typical bobber. Also in a typical bobber fashion, the fender isn’t a part of the frame. In fact, it is wheel-mounted and will hug the tyres and will move as the tyres go over undulations. 

The Royal Enfield Classic 650, on the other hand, looks like a bigger version of the Classic 350 with a beefier tank, wide handlebars for an upright riding posture, spoked wheels, rear shock absorbers, and disc brake at both ends with dual-channel ABS. Most of the details were uncovered when the bike was spotted a week ago.

From these images, we can see that the sub-frame setup is different from the Super Meteor 650 and is constructed in a way so that the rear seat is easily removable. The footpegs are much more mid-mounted and brakes are similar to that of the Super Meteor 650. We can also see a heat-shield embedded on the engine casing to prevent the rider’s shoes from touching the casing. 

The Shotgun 350 will likely be launched in mid-2024 with a price tag of around Rs 2.2 lakh (ex-showroom) and will rival the likes of the Jawa Perak and the 42 Bobber. The Classic 650 might be launched early next year with an expected price tag of Rs 3.2 lakh (ex-showroom) and its closest rival will be the Kawasaki Vulcan S.
