This Chinese Doppelganger Of Honda Rebel 500 Is Sportier Than The Real Deal
Wuling, a popular Chinese car manufacturer has made its first motorcycle, and it looks gorgeous!
Wuling is a popular Chinese carmaker, and it has come up with its first motorcycle, the Wuling Serpol 1. In-line with ‘tradition,’ this Chinese bike is a doppelganger of another mainstream motorcycle from a big brand, in this case, the Honda Rebel 500. However, it does come with an interesting twist.
When it comes to design, the Serpol 1 looks quite identical to the Rebel with a muscular and rugged styling. Gets a low-slung saddle, high-rise fuel tank and upright handlebars. However, it does get one addition to set it apart – a sharp and stylish bikini fairing which is reminiscent of the MV Agusta Superveloce Serie Oro.
Powering the Serpol 1 is a Euro-5-compliant 494cc, parallel twin, liquid-cooled heart borrowed from Loncin Voge, making 54PS. This makes it more powerful than the Honda’s 471cc mill making 46.2PS and 43.3Nm.
The Serpol 1 runs a telescopic fork and dual shock absorber setup along with radial disc brakes at both ends with ABS. The Rebel uses axial discs for braking. The Serpol 1 runs on 16-inch front tubeless spoke wheels with a fat 130/90 tyre, whereas the Rebel gets flashy alloys. Apart from all that, the Serpol 1 features LED lighting.
Expect the motorcycle’s price to be revealed soon. If you're looking for a potent middleweight cruiser, the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 is a good VFM option. We've tested the bike and here's what we liked about it and what we didn't.
