This Custom Bajaj 220F Motorcycle Looks Properly Retro

The bike is modified into a proper 1970s-themed motorcycle

Indonesian custom bike builder Rudy Gunawan has converted the Bajaj Pulsar 220F into a proper naked retro motorcycle with a roadster appeal. With a complete design overhaul, the bike is absolutely unrecognisable.

Taking inspiration from motorcycles from the 1960’s and 70’s, the custom Pulsar 220F gets a sleek and small fuel tank. It gets long custom-made rear and front fenders, along with minimalistic side body panels. The whole body comes painted in retro green and white colours that accentuate the classy appeal of the bike. The bike features a tan single piece leather seat. Highlighting its retro-ness is the circular headlight unit and circular rear view mirrors, along with rectangular turn indicators and an old-school taillight.

To alter the riding stance, the custom bike replaces the clip-on handlebar with a single-piece, mid-rise unit. Paired to the handlebar is a simple analogue instrument cluster.

The telescopic fork and dual shock absorber suspension setup has been retained on the custom bike. However, it does get a new custom subframe along with a new swingarm. For braking, the custom bike gets the same single disc setup at the rear but features a dual-disc setup up front. The bike rolls on custom black alloys wrapped in road-going tyres.

No changes have been made to the Pulsar’s 220cc air-oil-cooled engine, which produces 20.4PS and 18.55Nm. If it weren’t for the engine casing, the bike would be completely unrecognisable as a Pulsar 220F.
