This E-Scooter Sparked The Interest Of The Sharks On Shark Tank India

The Revamp Moto e-scooters flaunt a modular utility platform and some interesting equipment

Revamp Moto, a Nashik-based EV startup, caught the interest of the investors on the Shark Tank TV show with their modular utility electric scooters. Revamp Moto showcased the RM Mitra 02 (high speed e-scooter) priced at Rs 1.06 lakh and the RM 25 02 (slow-speed electric scooter) priced at Rs 55,000 (both prices ex-showroom).

As attractive and quirky as these electric scooters look, they are also utilitarian, especially the RM Mitra 02. With a boxy design and minimalistic styling, the high-speed electric scooter comes equipped with a host of attachments including panniers, side rack, delivery basket and a modular shop. The design elements can be customised according to the prospective buyers’  choice. It gets a raised floor board that houses the swappable battery.

The RM 25 02 is much smaller and takes design cues from its elder sibling. The slow-speed EV comes packed with equipment including back rack, food box and delivery cage, and without a doubt looks intriguing.

Details on the battery pack and motor have not yet been disclosed, however, the RM Mitra 02 boasts a claimed range of 140km and features two battery packs, with easy swapping tech. The RM Mitra 02 can also achieve a top speed of 65kmph, and requires a registration. The smaller sibling, however, gets a top speed of 25kmph which makes it eligible for riding without registration, and offers a claimed range of 70km.

Being utility electric scooters, the RM Mitra 02 has a loading capacity of about 200 kg, whereas the RM 25 05 can load up to 120kg. The suspension duties on both the e-scooters are handled by a telescopic fork up front and dual shock absorbers at the rear. Stopping the RM Mitra 02 are disc brakes on both ends.

The Revamp Moto e-scooters also feature smartphone and Bluetooth connectivity which displays all the info of the scooter on your smartphone.

However, if you were looking to own these funky looking utility electric scooters, we have some bad news, as these will be only B2B (commercial) EVs and will not be available to the general public.

In terms of rivals, the RM Mitra 02 does not have any direct competitors, but in terms of performance and range we can compare it with the Ola S1 (Rs 99,999) which offers a claimed range of 121km and 90kmph top speed, Bajaj Chetak (Rs 1 lakh) which offers a claimed range of 95km and a top speed of 70kmph, and the TVS iQube electric (1.3 lakh) which offers a claimed range of 75km and 78kmph top speed. With its quirky and utilitarian design coupled with a good range and top speed, the RM Mitra 02 makes for an attractive buy.

The RM 25 02, meanwhile, will rival the slow-speed scooters like the Hero Electric Eddy (Rs 72,000), Joy e-bike Gen Nxt Nanu (Rs 71,500), BGauss A2 (Rs 52,499) and Detel Easy Plus (Rs 39,999).
