This Modified KTM 200 Duke Scrambler Can Even Carry Your Surfing Board!

Modified On Oct 12, 2022 05:25 PM By Nishaad for KTM Duke 200 (2013 - 2024)

When the going gets tough, the Beluga XM can just keep going

Deus Ex Machina, a US-based custom motorcycle shop and clothing company, has pulled the wraps off its latest one-off motorcycle – a rugged scrambler-style bike based on the 2012 KTM 200 Duke that is built to do things that the current 200 Duke might not be able to.

Taking its name from the distinctive single-piece white plastic tank, the Beluga XM was designed to take on light off-roading while still being good for short highway stints as well as trips through the city. This baby Duke has been gifted a set of Bridgestone AX41 knobbies, a high-mounted front fender, removable rear luggage rack, a detachable headlight guard and front luggage rack, and a removable side-mounted surfboard carrier.

The engine seems to be the stock 199cc mill that we’ve seen on the 200 Duke that makes 25PS and 19.3Nm.

Complementing the custom bodywork is a custom subframe that supports the removable rear luggage rack. The minimalist tail section has also been capped off with a custom single-piece leather seat. This KTM has also been bestowed with a custom LED taillight, a circular LED headlight, and braced handlebars wrapped in new grips and equipped with a single circular drop-down mirror. The Beluga XM’s finishing touch comes in the form of a bespoke white and orange livery — a modified, pastel-themed take on the Ready To Race brand’s signature colorway.

All and all, it looks gorgeous and nothing like any modded KTM we’ve ever seen. If you liked it, you might also like this KTM 200 Duke which was modified into an electric bike. It not only offers a 130km range but also a top speed of 140kmph! Meanwhile, if you’re looking for a small-capacity bike with off road ambitions, you could check out the Hero XPulse 200 4V.
