This Yamaha FZ 16 Has Been Customised To Look Like A Retro RX100 Scrambler, Check It Out In 6 Images

Looks a lot more loveable and capable than the Yamaha FZ-X!

Here’s an iconic Yamaha RX100 turned Scrambler… but not entirely. Fundamentally, this is the first-generation Yamaha FZ 16, which takes inspiration from its older iconic stablemate to become a scrambler, executed by Bengaluru-based Gear Gear Motorcycles.

For aesthetics, the scrambler gets rid of all the body panels from the stock FZ and uses the evergreen and iconic RX100 fuel tank. 

For more scrambler-appropriate feels, the bike sports a circular halogen headlight unit, a custom handlebar with bar-end mirrors, and a single-piece ribbed saddle.

The colour has been given thought as well. It comes dipped in a bright yellow shade with sporty black graphics, which we believe is a nod to the iconic Yamaha RD350’s yellow colour scheme.

The underpinnings have stayed the same as the stock FZ – a telescopic fork and monoshock suspension setup, along with a disc up front and drum at the rear for braking. The wheels, however, are different and feature spoke wheels wrapped with meaty dual-purpose tyres.

The engine, too, stays the same as the stock FZ – a 153cc air-cooled engine producing 14PS and 13.6Nm. That said, this is a rather tasteful modification and we hope that Yamaha takes notice of the same and gets something similar to our shores, which would make a lot more sense than the *cough* Yamaha FZ-X *cough.*
