Top 5 Gainers In November 2021 Sales: TVS iQube, Yamaha R15 And More

Modified On Dec 23, 2021 05:55 PM By Team Bikedekho for Yamaha R15 V4

These two-wheelers bucked the trend of falling sales last month

The increasing fuel prices and functioning of public transport has resulted in a major decline in two-wheeler sales in the country. However, a few vehicles, especially electric scooters have gained quite some sales in the last one year. And, here's a detailed report of the same:

Models

Percentage increase in sales over November 2020

TVS iQube

606.06%

Bajaj Chetak

93.56%

Yamaha R15

48.23%

Bajaj Platina

42.42%

Suzuki Burgman Street

40.34%

The first position on the list has been secured by the TVS iQube. The electric scooter sold a total of 699 units in November 2021, an increase over the 99 units sold in November 2020. To expand its e-scooter lineup the Hosur-based bike maker might add the Creon next, which is expected to deliver better performance. The company has also recently announced its expansion and extension of the partnership with BMW Motorrad and through the joint venture both the brands might come up with an electric bike in the next 24 months.

The next on the list is again an electric scooter. The Bajaj Chetak has sold a total of 511 units in November 2021, an increase of 247 units over last year. A few factors that have caused this hike in EV sales is the increasing fuel prices, increased amount of subsidies for EV's, increased awareness about EV's and last but not least more and more players entering the segment day after day.

Finally, in third position we have an ICE powered bike. The Yamaha R15 managed sales of 9,084 units in November 2021 and has witnessed significant growth in its sales over the last year. This hike in sales of the entry-level sportbike was expected as the brand not only launched a new generation (R15 V4) but also introduced a much comfortable version of the bike (R15S V3) that gets a single-piece seat and costs Rs 14,539 less than the R15 V4.

The next on the list is the Bajaj Platina, the commuter motorcycle that has managed to rank in the top 10 best selling bikes for the last two years in a row. The motorcycle has sold a total of 60,646 units in November 2021 and has witnessed a growth of 19,074 units over the last year.

Rounding off the list is the maxi-scooter from Suzuki, the Burgman Street. The 124cc maxi-scooter has sold 9,037 units this month. To further acquire the 125cc sporty scooter segment in India, Suzuki has also launched the Avenis, the ex-showroom Delhi price of which starts at Rs 86,700.
