Top 5 Highest-selling Bikes In June 2021: Hero Splendor, Hero HF Deluxe And More

Modified On Jul 30, 2021 11:00 AM By Manaal Mahatme for Hero Splendor Plus

Sales are inching closer to pre-COVID levels

The sales report for May 2021 threw in a couple of surprises, with the likes of the Bajaj Pulsar and TVS Apache family dominating the charts. Last month, however, the tides turned on these sporty bikes and the commuter segment once again raked in better numbers. Here’s a look at the top 5 motorcycles sold last month:

Hero Motocorp single-handedly dominated the sales last month with the Splendor family and the HF Deluxe. Of the 2.64 lakh units sold, the Splendor Plus constituted 2,26,631 units which is not only a 76 percent jump compared to June 2020, but is also an improvement over the pre-COVID sales figures. On the other hand, the Super Splendor contributed only 37,378 units, a decline of 29 percent compared to June 2020. The Hero HF Deluxe saw a sharp rise of almost 62 percent from last month’s dreary sales figures of 42,118 in May 2021.

The Pulsar lineup’s sales too jumped by almost 50 percent compared to May 2021. Predictably, the major contributors are the Pulsar 125 and the NS 125 with 47,266 units sold, a stark rise of 79 percent compared to June 2020. However, the baby NS hadn’t made its debut back then.

The Honda CB Shine made a strong comeback last month, selling 71,869 units which not only is 78 percent more than June 2020, but also 79 percent rise from its May 2021 sales. Its competitor, the Hero Glamour’s sales have steadily declined, however, with the
launch of the Glamour X-Tec, the CB Shine may face some serious competition.

The Bajaj Platina has a similar story. After recording poor sales in May 2021, the popular commuter made it to the top 5, overthrowing the TVS Apache family. That said, the sales of the Platina are yet to reach the pre-COVID level.
