Top Five 125cc Motorcycles Sold In May 2022: Honda Shine Outshines Competition

Modified On Jun 15, 2022 03:38 PM By Manaal Mahatme for Honda Shine

Honda has sold more units of the Shine than the Bajaj Pulsar 125, NS125, Hero Super Splendor, Hero Glamour and TVS Raider combined

The Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers (SIAM) has released the May 2022 sales data and here are the top five 125cc motorcycles sold in the month:

Motorcycle

Units Sold

Honda Shine

1,19,765

Bajaj Pulsar 125 And Pulsar NS125

56,396

Hero Super Splendor

33,754

Hero Glamour

28,363

TVS Raider

344

The Honda Shine tops the chart by a huge margin. In fact, Honda has sold more units of the Shine and the SP 125 than the combined total of the other bikes on this list. Despite being a pretty much bare-bones motorcycle in terms of features, the Shine has outsold the likes of the Hero Glamour which has goodies like Bluetooth connectivity.

While sales of the Hero Glamour, Super Splendor and even the Bajaj Pulsars have been consistent, the TVS Raider has seen a sharp decline in May. The sporty 125cc commuter’s sales have dropped by 88 per cent when compared with April 2022.

In fact, TVS managed to sell more units of the Apache RR 310 than the Raider. This is surprising, considering that the production and export of the Raider have been consistent in both April and May.
