Triumph-Bajaj 350 Twins Pricing Analysed

Modified On Jun 26, 2023 05:02 PM By Ishan Lee for Triumph Speed 400

Early innings of these upcoming Anglo-Indian 350cc bikes rests heavily on Bajaj's pricing strategy

The Triumph-Bajaj 350cc bikes - Roadster and Scrambler are certainly two of the most important bike launches of the year. And, for a few good reasons. One, they mark a new era for the British marquee with a new foray into the world of small and accessible bikes. And two, Bajaj bagging yet another European premium brand (after KTM) to partner with to flair up its portfolio. But, if KTM's early success is to be attributed to one good decision from Bajaj, it must be pricing, and it's imperative that it does it again with these new Triumph 350cc bikes.

Both bikes are likely to be powered by a single-cylinder, liquid-cooled motor which is expected to be a 350cc–400cc mill producing around 35PS to 38PS. They get Upside down fork (USD) and a mono shock at the back. If you'd like a closer look at Scrambler, read this and for the Roadster, check this story.

In Europe, the 390 Duke costs Euro 6245 (Rs 5.58 lakh) and serves as an entry-level motorcycle for KTM enthusiasts. Hence, we expect these Triumph-Bajaj bikes to cost about the same in European markets. However, given that these bikes are produced in India, just like the 390 Duke, they should be priced similar to the 390 Duke (Rs 2.97 lakh) in India as well. So, our best guess is that Triumph-Bajaj will price the Roadster at Rs 2.75 lakh and the Scrambler at Rs 2.95 lakh (both ex-showroom Delhi). The reason we believe Triumph would ask a bit more for the Scrambler is because it could come kitted with better-specced components than the Roadster to better handle the rough stuff.

Though these motorcycles by design will go up against other roadsters like the Royal Enfield Classic 350, Yezdi Roadster and the likes but on the basis of price they will compete with the Husqvarna Svartpilen 250, 390 Duke, Honda CB300R, Royal Enfield Scram 411 and Yezdi Scrambler. That said, on July 5, the global unveiling will finally put all our speculations to rest.
